Morphing

Things morph into things... In Porto de Galinhas, everything seems to morph into...chicken!!!

This small fishermen's village by the sea in the suthern coast of Pernambuco took its name from a curious fact. In days long past, slaves smuggled into the harbour were hidden under chicken crates in slave ship. When a ship with smuggled slaves arrived at the port, a cry could be heard: "Chicken in the port, chicken in the port!" That's how this small village became known as Porto de Galinhas (Chicken Port).

As to morphing into chicken, well... the picture above was taken at the restaurant in our hotel. A pineapple morphed into a...rooster! Not a chicken, this time but, well... , we sure stayed in the family, rsrsrs...
