Petrellão é tudo de bom!!!

Vejamos se Adrian Pasdar se enquadra nos critérios recentemente adotados:

1- Divo se define muito bem pelo verso de John Keats: A thing of beauty is a joy forever!!! - YES!!! Se bem que há controvérsias devido às feições angulosas.

2- Mean Divo é um Divo acrescido de uma pitada (ou várias) de crueldade. - Por enquanto, ele oscila entre YESSSSSS e NO (quem segue Heroes entenderá).

3- MD Heroes são aqueles que, embora não cheguem fisicamente à categoria de Divo, têm um comportamento inspirador. Esse requisito já vem sendo usado no caso das MD's of all times. - I believe this is a YES, no pun intended, já que agüentou firme ao lado de Natalie durante a coisa toda do Bush. It's a blur between real life and fiction.

Maleficent/Malévola: Mean Diva assustadora e inesquecível

Ela surgiu em um dos contos de Charles Perrault (La Belle aux bois dormant), mas entrou para a galeria das Mean Divas quando ganhou “corpo” no filme de Walt Disney, Sleeping Beauty (A bela adormecida, 1959).

Na história de Perrault, a personagem que na adaptação do clássico para o cinema dará origem a Malévola é uma velha fada. Ela não foi convidada para o batizado da princesa porque fazia mais de cinqüenta anos que ela vivia isolada numa torre e todos a julgavam morta. Como no filme, a velha fada amaldiçoa a princesinha a espetar o dedo em um fuso, quando completasse dezesseis anos, e morrer. Também como no filme, uma das fadas transforma a condenação à morte em um sono profundo, do qual a princesa só será despertada pelo beijo de um príncipe. O resto da história é conhecido por todos.

Para patrocinar a viagem de nossos leitores à inesquecível cena em que Malévola aparece no palácio real, no momento exato em que a princesa Aurora recebe os dons das suas fadas-madrinhas, fica aqui a transcrição do roteiro original do filme de 1959.

Maleficent:

Well, quite a glittering assemblage, King Stefan. Royalty, nobility, the gentry, and, how quaint, even the rebel. […]

Seize that creature!

Maleficent:

Stand back you fools. [disappears in a flash of lightning, laughing]

Considerada a líder das vilãs de Disney, graças a seus poderes extraordinários, Malévola protagoniza, no filme, algumas cenas assustadoras. Quem é que consegue esquecer a cena em que ela, sob a forma de um dragão, ataca o príncipe?

Morgan le Fay: a legendary Mean Diva

Morgan le Fay is, in Malory's Morte d'Arthur, Arthur's half sister, the daughter of Arthur's mother Igraine and her first husband, the Duke of Cornwall. She is also presented as an adversary of Arthur's: she gives Excalibur to her lover Accolon so he can use it against Arthur (a story retold in Madison J. Cawein's poem “Accolon of Gaul”) and, when that plot fails, she steals the scabbard of Excalibur which protects Arthur and throws it into a lake. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight she is presented as the instigator of the Green Knight's visit to Arthur's court, partly motivated by her desire to frighten Guinevere. Her enmity towards Guinevere has its origin in the Vulgate Lancelot, where Morgan is having an affair with Guiomar, Guinevere's cousin, and Guinevere puts an end to it. Despite the motif of Morgan's enmity towards Arthur and Guinevere, she is also presented as one of the women who takes Arthur in a barge to Avalon to be healed. This view of Morgan as healer has its roots in the earliest accounts of her and perhaps to her origin in Celtic mythology. In the Vita Merlini (c. 1150) Morgan is said to be the first of nine sisters who rule The Fortunate Isle or the Isle of Apples and is presented as a healer as well as a shape-changer. It is to this island that Arthur is brought (though Morgan awaits him and heals him rather than actually fetching him herself). Morgan proclaims that she can heal Arthur if he stays with her for a long time. Morgan is also said to be the wife of King Uriens and the mother of Yvain or Ywain. Morgan rarely appears in post-medieval works – until the twentieth century when there is a renewed interest in her character.

Helga: Mean Diva nórdica!

Hägar's demanding wife.Dressed always in her horned helmet, she is a true Valkyrie, besting the beleaguered Hägar in battles on the home front. She always wants Hägar to take a bath, but he won't. While Hägar may instill terror in the outside world, it's Helga who "wears the skins" in the family. Although she is more than a match for her sword-bearing ruffian husband, she also has a tender side. Helga is a devoted wife and mother, often doing what's best for her family whether they want it or not.

Magica de Spell / Maga Patalógica: HQ veeeeeeery Mean DIVA!

This is one of the best, HQwise... (my inspiration for sbleargh days like...today!)

Magica lives on the slopes of the Vesuvius, next to Naples, Italy, where the sorceress was born in 1908. Her primary motivation is to steal Uncle Scrooge's Number One Dime and melt it in the Vesuvius into a powerful magical amulet.

She sometimes teams up with The Beagle Boys or her best friend and sometimes housemate Mad Madam Mim. She also has a raven named Ratface in the comics. Other characters closer to Magica include her grandmother, Granny De Spell, who, although claiming be one of the most powerful of witches, has been no more successful in obtaining the Number One Dime. There is also her niece, Witch Child (Séraphine Sorcerette in French, Nocina Maghetta in Italian) a mischievous little girl witch who can be a playmate and a thorn in the side of Huey, Dewey and Louie, depending on the story. Magica even has an apprentice, Samson Hex, a bungling no-hoper. There's also Rosalio, a dim-witted goose, who claims to be her fiancé. He is supported in this by Granny DeSpell, but always rejected by Magica.
